People shopping and browsing the stalls at the Michigan Lavender Festival

For those looking for something to replace this festival in Metro-Detroit, you can check out Blake’s Lavender Market. They will have the Lavender treats available, but this year the artisans will not be present due to the circumstances. However, they are encouraging you to shop virtually. Limited classes and workshops will be available, and the U-Pick Lavender will be available.

Pick Your Own LavenderWhite and purple lavender blossoms in a field

At Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill, you have the opportunity to pick your own lavender. You will be driven out in a tractor and be dropped off at the Lavender field. I would try to pick early as if you are toward the end of the season; there are limited choices on what is left in the fields. I was able to choose a good handful to make a decent-sized bundle, but I did find it hard to find larger sized lavender blossoms. You can check Blake’s U-Pick calendar to schedule which fruits, vegetables, or herbs you want to pick yourself. Group of Lavender flowers in a field

Lavender Field Yoga, Aroma Meditation, & MassagePracticing Yoga at the Lavender Festival

For those looking to relax, you can participate in yoga classes or take advantage of the free massages offered to festival-goers. The Free Aroma Yoga class has lavender essential oil permeating through the group to make your experience even more relaxing. The Free Lavender Massage also has a lavender aroma surrounding you. Both of these experiences are a great way to relax in the middle of the summer. Massages at the Michigan Lavender Festival

Within the Lavender Market, you can find luxury bath goods, lavender sweets, soy candles, natural pet products, and many more Michigan themed gifts. If you like country chic, you can also find furnishings with a lavender touch. And if purple was your favorite color, this is the festival to visit. Everything is purple and infused with lavender. Lavender Infused GoodiesLavender Oolong Black Tea

One of the exciting finds was seeing all the different ways Lavender is incorporated into sweets and drinks. You can find tea, cupcakes, cookies, fudge, lemonade, and even ice cream, all infused with Lavender. I had no idea how wonderful it would taste when you add a little lavender to them. Alpaca FriendsTwo alpacas at the Lavender Festival

Another nice little bonus is that you might see some Alpacas at the Lavender Festival. They had a little area set aside for children to pet the animals. These are some very furry animals. There is so much hair on them that it looks like it is wearing a warm fuzzy sock around his neck. What do you think?A llama at the Lavender Festival

    Hi,

My name is Jennifer and I’m the creative director for the Michigan Lavender Festival. Someone on our team came across your post (which is beautiful, by the way!) and notified me about the outdated information.

We’ve been forced to cancel our outdoor event, and have now put together a virtual one. I just wanted to share this information with you, hoping you might be willing to update your post.

Michigan Lavender Festival 2020 – The VIRTUAL Experience – is being designed so that you can have an interactive, dynamic experience from the comfort of your home, or wherever you want to be a part of it. Guests will have access to the recorded presentations through the end of September, so you can go back to watch anything you may have missed.

Get your FREE ticket here: https://michigan-lavender-festival.mykajabi.com/

Our virtual lavender fest will feature a variety of lavender presentations, workshops and demonstrations, as well as a virtual lavender farm experience.

We will be traveling across Michigan to visit our festival artists & makers in their home studios. You’ll hear about their journey and some will even demonstrate their handmade creations. Vendor Spotlights and product giveaways will be featured on our social media pages throughout the entire month of August. We hope you’ll tune in to support these small businesses with your purchase!

Although things will be different this year, we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy this virtual lavender experience with us.
