The Royal Park Hotel Gingerbread House – Creating Christmas Masterpieces
The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan, used to create a massive gingerbread house for the holiday season. One of my favorite holiday traditions was photographing the Royal Park Hotel’s Gingerbread House creation every year. It is always a treat to walk into this luxury hotel and see what they have created for the holidays, and they never disappoint! This year, 2025, they have created a winter wonderland in the lobby for you to capture your holiday moment. Even though it isn’t a giant gingerbread creation, it is still a memorable holiday.

The Royal Park Hotel used to unveil its gingerbread masterpiece in late November, coinciding with Rochester’s Big Bright Light Show. And until early January, the lobby is now home to the Royal Park Hotel Winter Wonderland Display. They encouraged guests and visitors to stop into the lobby to see and photograph the displays, even if they aren’t staying overnight. If you do stay at the hotel, you can reserve one of the holiday-themed suites, stop into the Holiday Pop-Up Bar to see the upside-down Christmas tree, enjoy a Holiday tea, or have breakfast with Santa.

Tiny Candy Details

Everywhere you look, from Christmas cookies, and candy canes to Whirley Pops, you can see the incredible focus on detail in making this holiday treat. There is Christmas goodness everywhere on these displays!

Each year was a different theme, made with over 200 pounds of candy. It made you want to keep coming back year after year to see what amazing design they came up with next. This display is one gingerbread house for the picture books.
