Great Escape Publishing Northern Lights Photography Tour Group

This year I had so many adventures all over the world. I completed a couple of bucket list items, capturing the Northern Lights and exploring historic Philadelphia. I, also, went to two travel conferences, learned a lot and met so many friendly people who enjoy traveling as much as I do. Here are the 20 Best RaulersonGirlsTravel Photos of 2017 of my travel adventures for you to enjoy.

Fairbanks, Alaska

Great Escape Publishing Northern Lights Photography Tour GroupCapturing the Northern Lights wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. You only had to stand out in -20 degrees weather for 3 hours each night. I had an excellent time with the Great Escape Publishing Photography Tour at Chena Hot Springs Resort in Fairbanks, Alaska. Plus, I think everyone loved the Northern Lights prints I gave out at Christmas as gifts.

Huntsville, Alabama

National Historic Landmark of the Redstone Test StandsThe first TBEX travel conference I went to this year was in Huntsville, Alabama. I would have never explored this town if I hadn’t gone to TBEX. And I would have missed so much! Huntsville is a great town to visit especially if you are interested in space exploration.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia Fourth of July FireworksKayla and I touring the Liberty BellKayla and I took a road trip to Philly for the Fourth of July. The WAWA Welcome America festival was tremendous fun even with a surprise shower before the fireworks. We explored the whole downtown by bus and walking. We hunted out street art hidden on walls throughout Philadelphia, saw all the historic sites, and explored the abandoned Eastern State Penitentiary.Street Art in PhiladelphiaEastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia

Valley Forge & Gettysburg National Parks

Log Cabins at Valley ForgeRoad tripping through Pennsylvania gave us an opportunity to visit Valley Forge & Gettysburg. Each one is unique, and both deserve to be seen and experienced. Gettysburg is a very emotional place that I want to go back to visit.Farm at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Boston, Massachusetts

Loraine in front of Boston signI was able to go on vacation with my mother on a Fall Color tour through New England with Country Heritage Tours. We explored Boston extensively by walking the Freedom Trail and many other areas. Bring your walking shoes when you visit Boston, lots to see and everything is accessible.

Mason, New Hampshire

Pickity Place in Mason, New HampshireOne of our stops on the Country Heritage Tour is Pickity Place. We had a fabulous lunch here before we were able to photograph their extensive gardens. Pickity Place is the inspiration for the illustrations for Little Red Riding Hood with its little red cottage and a massive white ash tree in front.

Vermont

Montpelier, Vermont

Maple Syrup from Morse Farm, Montpelier, VermontThe many colors of Maple Syrup at Morse Farm in Vermont. The colors change depending on what time of year you remove the sap from the tree. I was able to try the four versions of syrup that they make. I prefer the lighter version.

Shelburne, Vermont

Steamboat Ticonderoga at Shelburne MuseumThe Shelburne Museum is one of the best museums I have been to. Electra Havemeyer Webb collected unique art and American history items to create one of a kind collections. She even moved large objects such as ships, lighthouses to be showcased in her museum. This is a remarkable museum built by a most outstanding woman.

Woodstock, Vermont

Covered bridge in Woodstock, VermontLocated in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Woodstock has beautiful covered bridges, old historic buildings, and an adorable city center. I spent a few hours photographing this quaint town.

Ogunquit, Maine

Mom and me along Marginal Way in Ogunquit, MaineOne of the most scenic stops on the Country Heritage Tour is the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. The rocky coastline is a photographer’s dream at sunrise. The waves crashing on the rock cliffs are magnificent. I could have spent hours sitting and listening to the waves. The other significant aspect of Maine is a lobster dinner. The highlight was my mom squealing that the lobster was staring at her. We had to help her break the lobster; she wouldn’t touch it. It was a delicious Lobster Dinner at Foster’s Clambake.Lobster Dinner at Fosters Clambake in Maine

Salem, Massachusetts

Arrest of Bridget Bishop reenactmentSalem is a fun village to visit especially leading up to Halloween. The history of the witch trials is prominent throughout the town. There are reenactments of the arrest of Bridget Bishop, who was the first woman falsely accused. So, many sights to see try to plan to spend a full day here.

Ireland

Adventures abound throughout this country. I spent the majority of my time along the Wild Atlantic Way exploring everything I could.
