Lush Green Views Along the Ring of Kerry

The lush green views along the Ring of Kerry are a breathtaking sight to see when visiting the southwestern part of Ireland. The 125-mile drive route is a full day of historical sites and a photographer’s picturesque dream. There are many places to see along the Ring of Kerry such as Skellig Michael, castles, stone forts, beehives, waterfalls, beaches, and of course the beautiful Irish countryside.

The view from the road along the Ring of Kerry, Ireland

Below are some of the landscapes shots I was able to capture while riding along on my tour bus. Can you imagine what I might have achieved if I was driving myself and could stop and take photos?

Animals on the Ring of Kerry

The above photo is the Kissane Sheep Farm, open March to October. You can visit them to see sheepdog rounding up the sheep and sheep shearing demonstrations. Go ahead and stop in and say hi while you are cruising the Ring of Kerry.

Ladies View and Gap of Dunloe

One of the perils of driving the Ring of Kerry by yourself and not with a tour group, you need to be able to handle rental cars with manual transmissions on the right side. I heard a story of a young couple who while parking their vehicle at the Ladies View drove right over the little stone wall above. They barely made it out of the car teetering over the edge. Be careful out there and make sure you can handle driving a car in Ireland.
I hope you enjoy my Irish landscape photos of the Ring of Kerry. If you are interested in the Ring of Kerry route or maps, you can check out the official Ring of Kerry site for info. And for one more fantastic Ireland Ring of Kerry photo.I hope these images inspire you to visit Ireland and the Ring of Kerry. Let me know if you do, and then we can share Ring of Kerry photo stories!
