Where to find Bratislava Street Art?

When you have exhausted all the traditional tourist activities during your visit to Bratislava, take a day to explore a different side of the city. With Bratislava being one of the smaller capital cities in Europe, you wouldn’t expect to find a lot of street art in the town. But, I was pleasantly surprised in realizing that Bratislava Street Art is plentiful and can be easily located. If you are as passionate as I am in finding street art in cities that you travel to, then you will love seeing the graffiti and murals I was able to discover in Bratislava.

Beginning the Hunt for Street Art

When looking for Street Art in a new city, there are a few things you can do to help you maximize the amount of street art you can find. First, make sure you have your camera with you at all times. Street Art can be anywhere, so you need to be prepared when you do spot it. Second is to do a little research. You can do this easily on Pinterest or Google by searching for “Bratislava Street Art.” This should give you some great results to use and provide you a general direction for where to start your search. Or you can look into Street Art apps. I haven’t used them yet. I have downloaded Street Art Cities to see how they work. I’ll write up more on the app as I get familiar with it. Lastly, all you have to do is go out and explore those side and back streets and take those photos!

I was able to find a good portion of these art murals very close to my hostel, Hostel Blues. The others were located right outside of the old town. And a few more that I located were between my hostel and the Blue Church. The key to finding them is to make sure to look up at the sides of buildings, look down at low walls, and anywhere there is a flat wall. Because that is for sure what these artists are doing. And I for sure believe that this is art and not vandalism! They brighten up the most dreary looking buildings. How can anything so colorful be considered as anything but art!
