Volunteering in a Midwest Town at Completely Kids

During my spring break, I had the awesome opportunity to travel to Omaha, Nebraska to work with an organization called Completely Kids. They are a non-profit that “focuses on empowering kids and families to create a safe, healthy, successful and connected community.” They provide tutoring help for after school, and a weekend meal plan for all the children in their program.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with 3-4th grades and we were able to play outside, color, and do some fun research about artists for our field trip. This program not only taught me about the issue of youth and poverty but it gave me a better understanding of what I could do to help my own community. 20160310_103551
