Way of Lights Christmas Display

Our Lady of the Snows Way of Lights

This drive through a massive display of Christmas lights is a sight to behold yearly at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows “Way of Lights” in Belleville, Illinois. In addition to an amazing light display, there are many other things to do here (i.e., petting zoo, camel, donkey & pony rides, Christmas tree/wreath displays, and they even have a choir to enjoy).

Once you pass the traffic line to drive into the complex, the light display begins. If you can turn your headlights off, you can enjoy this portion of the lights better. Remember that some cars are not equipped with a turn-off feature, so don’t get upset with the guy behind you. Remember, this is the Christmas Season!

Don’t forget to stop at the petting zoo area. The petting zoo is a highlight for the little kids. You can feed and pet all types of animals. You can even ride a camel, donkey, or pony.

Another beautiful area to stop at is the building that is housing all the Christmas tree/wreath displays. It is always amazing to me who comes up with these very creative themes.

The last thing in the main building is to have a brief stop to listen to the choir. Incredible costumes and beautiful voices that you must hear.

The Way of Lights is a great holiday tradition for your family if you happen to be in the St. Louis area. I know that I enjoy it when I go down there to visit for the holidays.

Is there a fantastic Christmas Lights display in your area that you would like to share? I would love to hear about it.
